A project is stored as a file with the ".qpp" extension. QuickPlan adheres to the latest best practices and maintains the highest privacy standards by design—it is not server-based. QuickPlan is an exceptionally privacy-friendly application. Swift Apps does not operate a server to store user-created project files. Projects are stored directly on the user's device or in the user's cloud storage, at the user's discretion. Users have full ownership of the files created by the QuickPlan app and are responsible for their data safety.

Although the risk is low, users should be aware of the potential for data loss or misuse, especially for critical projects. Risks can arise from:

• Device damage or loss.
• Accidental removal of projects.
• Accidental changes to project data that are automatically synced to other devices via iCloud Drive before being noticed.

Recommendations for critical project files stored on iOS devices:

• Save the project to iCloud Drive, AND save a local copy to the device.
• After each major change, manually back up the project file and copy it to cloud storage. You can also save the backup with a different name (e.g., typically including a timestamp) to maintain multiple versions.
• Duplicate the project as a temporary backup on the device to a dedicated "Backup" project group.

Recommendations for critical project data on macOS devices:

• Maintain multiple copies of project files in different directories.
• Install the Dropbox (or Google Drive) app on the Mac to automatically sync a local directory with the cloud.
• Utilize other backup tools available on macOS, such as Time Machine.
