The Outline List Acts Like a Grid

• ← → ↑ ↓ ("left", "right", "up", "down") keys to change the active row and the active cell
• ↩ ("return") key to edit the active cell of the selected task;
  Click on a cell in the active row to edit it.
  Double-click any cell to edit it directly.
  Esc key to stop editing the active cell.
  
• ⌘⌥ ("Command" + "Alt") + ↑ or ↓ or ← or → keys to change the active cell AND continue editing
• Task column titles and visibility are customizable: Double-click or right-click a column header

• Copy/Paste task cell: ⌘C (Command + C) to Copy; ⌘V (Command + V) to Paste.

  ( Note: These shortcuts are for CELL operations. For the WHOLE TASK, use ⇧⌘C to Copy and ⇧⌘V to Paste.)

The Gantt Chart Panel Visualizes Tasks in a Tree Structure

• ⇧ double-click(Shift + Double-Click) to edit the task name directly on the chart panel

  
• Click a taskbar to select

• Double-click the empty field in a row to select the task in the row.

  Tip: Selecting a task automatically scrolls the Gantt Chart to make it visible. To save time, simply click the task in the outline list or double-click the task row instead of scrolling the Gantt Chart manually.

• ⌘ + Double-click ("Command" + "Double-click" on a task group) to collapse or expand it

  Tip: While you can collapse/expand task groups using keyboard shortcuts or the triangle icon, this mouse gesture is often more efficient.

• You can also change task dates in the Gantt Chart using intuitive mouse gestures.

  

• Use the ⌘ + Mouse Move-up/Move-down gesture or ⌘ + ↑/↓ keyboard shortcuts to change task sequence.

  

The Updating Panel Acts as a Traditional Property Panel

• Double-click a taskbar in the Gantt Chart or the WBS column in the Outline Panel to edit the task in the Inspector.
• The Inspector is a convenient place to edit when focusing on a specific task.

• Productivity Tip: Focus on one aspect of the project at a time. For example, when editing task dates: use your left hand ("s"/"d" keys) to switch tasks, and your right hand to operate the Inspector.

• Create a New Task at the end of the task list

• Change Task Sequence
  • ⌘ ↓ ("Command" + "Down Arrow") to move the selected task down within the same task group
  • ⌘ ↑ ("Command" + "Up Arrow") to move the selected task up within the same task group
  • ⌘ Left Mouse Move Up/Down ("Command" + "Left Mouse Move-up / Move-down") to move a task up/down within the same group or across multiple groups
• Change Task Outline Level
  • ⌘ ← ("Command" + "Left Arrow"), and ⌘ [ ("Command" + "]") to outdent the task
  • ⌘ → ("Command" + "Right Arrow"), and ⌘ [ ("Command" + "[") to indent the task
• Open sub-project
  • ⌘ ↩ ("Command" + "Return") to open the selected sub-project
  • ⌘ Double-click ("Command" + "Double Mouse Click") on any sub-project task to open it.
• Edit the Selected Task on the Updating Panel
  • ⌘ E ("Command" + "e") to show or hide the Inspector (Updating Panel).
  • Double-click the WBS column of a task in the Outline List.

• Collapse/Expand Task Group(s)
