Customization

QuickPlan supports customizing the title and visibility of task fields.

  • Tap a task column header in the Outline View to edit the field title.
  • Long-press any task header in the Outline View to set the visibility of all task fields.

Task Fields

  • No.
    • Sequence No - The task's sequence number in the entire list, starting from 1.
    • WBS No - The task's WBS number (e.g., "1.2.1").
  • Name
  • Start
  • Finish
  • Duration
    • Count of all calendar days from start to finish. By default, this field is titled "Duration".
    • Count of all workdays from start to finish. By default, this field is titled "Days".
  • Archived Start, Finish, Workdays, and Duration
    Archived task start date.
    • QuickPlan supports archiving the start, finish, and duration of all tasks simultaneously.
    • QuickPlan does not support updating the archived data of a specific task.
    • QuickPlan supports displaying active task data in the outline list with color coding to compare it against archived data.
    • Typically, archived fields can be used as a simple baseline solution.
  • % Complete
    See the definition in the MS Project.
  • Target % Complete
    This column is calculated by QuickPlan to show the target % Complete rate by the end of yesterday (the expected % Complete based on the schedule).
  • Resources
    Task resource assignment.
  • Work
    Input manually or calculated from task duration and assigned resources ( = "Workdays" * "Daily Working Hours" * "Daily Assigned Resource"). Task Work differs from Task Duration; for example, a one-day task may involve only one hour of work.
  • Physical % Complete
    See the definition in the MS Project.
  • Contact
    Specify the task owner or contact person for reviews and status updates.
    (This is not the same as the task resource).
  • Labor Cost
    Input manually or calculated automatically by the app (Sum of resource costs: Work * Resource Cost Rate).
  • Materials Cost
    Input manually.
  • Total Cost
    Automatically calculated: Labor Cost + Materials Cost.
  • Predecessor
    Lists the WBS numbers of all linked predecessors.
  • Successor
    Lists the WBS numbers of all linked successors.
  • URL #1, URL #2
    Two URL fields without predefined purpose.
    • QuickPlan does not restrict URL string input; it is user-controlled.
    • After syncing or sharing the project to other devices, the URL may become invalid (e.g., a URL to a local file on a Mac will not be accessible on an iPad).
  • Icon
    The Icon field can be used to specify task status. QuickPlan does not define icon usage; users can define their own meanings.
