Team collaboration via iCloud Drive

Below the video demonstrates how a small team works together on a project plan via the iCloud Drive:

  • Methods for sharing a file via iCloud Drive may vary across different versions and platforms.
  • This video does not demonstrate all possible workflows. You can share a file from a Mac or an iPad; the operations are similar.
  • If you share a project file with team members who have write permission, it is recommended to back up the file to another folder on iCloud Drive. This prevents data loss if a member inadvertently modifies the file, as iCloud syncs changes automatically across devices without notification.
  • iCloud Drive functions like a shared network folder. Avoid opening the same project file simultaneously on multiple devices. It is best to grant write permission to only one user.

Attentions

At the time of writing, the iOS Files app has some known stability issues regarding permission control. If you need to collaborate with a team using QuickPlan on an iPad, please note:

  • Share the file directly - Do not share a project file via a folder if you need to grant read-only permission to some members.
  • Use iCloud Drive - Avoid sharing via other third-party cloud storage due to known permission control bugs (likely caused by the iOS Files app or the storage provider) that are pending fixes.
